Applications to the dual-degree program are considered by a joint admission committee from the Graduate School of Journalism and the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science. Applicants may also be admitted to either the Computer Science or the Journalism program, depending on their qualifications.

Successful Applicant Profile
The program seeks applicants who have outstanding undergraduate records including a background in computer science or extensive training in mathematics or engineering which includes preparation for the required computer science courses. Applicants should also have excellent writing skills and be familiar with the fundamentals of journalism. Candidates must be curious about the world, eager to learn more about particular subject areas, determined and resourceful, and enthusiastic about exploring innovations in journalism.
