Chi-An Wang

Chi-An finished his dual degree in journalism and computer science in 2017 and he is heading to Facebook to work as a frontend engineer. He interned on the Things team at Quartz in 2016 summer and produced stories about the internet backbone of Riot Games and Taiwan’s bubble tea. He worked as a data engineer in the New Media Lab of United Daily News in Taiwan before coming to Columbia, focusing on data-driven stories.

He is interested in developing open-source software for newsrooms and enriching stories with data and visualizations. Chi-An is especially obsessed with discovering how technology can change journalism. He has been playing drums for seven years, and he loves it. He is also a volleyball addict.
