Tow Tea: What Editors Want

February 25, 2016 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Location: Brown Institute for Media Innovation
+ Google Map

The Columbia Journalism School Career Expo is coming up, which means its time to start getting those portfolios and profiles in order. But what are hiring editors really looking for in a prospective employee? Clips, cover letters, resumes – it’s hard to know where to focus your time and energy.

In this session you’ll hear from real hiring editors about the specific things they look for in an applicant, and what can red-flag an otherwise promising candidate. Bring your questions and take notes!

Speakers:

Sasha Koren, Editor at the Guardian US Mobile Innovation Lab

Louise Roug, Global News Editor at Mashable
